Christmas 2019
with a simple treasure from the past
In our new simple life we carry a shoebox of our most treasured Christmas baubles and decorations so our tree is a real tradition no matter where we are.
We used to always add one more each year. This year, we spent Christmas with Paul’s parents in the U.K. ( first time ever at their home). So to celebrate, this year we shared a tree decoration from the past… the vintage fairy in the picture… from Paul’s childhood.
With less, we seem to have sooo much more
This is a repeated theme in our new life. We are so grateful to have had such a full Christmassy experience there, and all in a perfect 4 days. Enjoying family time, sun and games, food of course, and the cold but not toooooo cold weather. We ‘ate’ as many chefs as we could for Christmas dinner.
Our Christmas Gift
Even though we eat / sleep / work together anyway, we still give each other the gift of time for Christmas. We stopped for 12days this year!! Not rushing anything, not overdoing anything, time to just enjoy the flow of living. It’s amazing how much we live when we stop trying to! Time to appreciate each other more fully. Add into that the joy of having our only daughter with us for a full 7 days and I’d say we’ve had a pretty perfect Christmas time .
Now it’s time to put the year… and the decade to bed. We love new beginnings, and are excited for 2020 to see how our journey unfolds. We’re getting glimpses already.
